mywirelessreminder.com? is your personal wireless assistant.  You simply set up a customer profile with things you need to be reminded of, or things you want to remind someone else of.  We will send a reminder or greeting to your wireless device in the form of a text or multimedia message.

How much will it cost me to sign up/subscribe to this service?

What is a text message (SMS)?

It is the ability to send and receive a string of characters (text) that can be displayed on a wireless device or computer monitor.   A text message can be up to 160 characters.

 

What is a multimedia message (MMS)?

A message that includes graphics, audio, or video content that can be displayed on a wireless device or computer monitor.

 

Can I receive SMS and MMS messages on my device?

Most wireless devices are text enabled; however, not all devices are capable of receiving MMS messages. 

Your phone does have to be powered "On" to receive any messages.  If your phone is "Off" or you are not getting a signal, the message will be stored (normally up to 72 hours) on your carriers? network until the phone is "On" or service is available.

 

How do I send a message to an International mobile phone?

Sending messages to International mobile phones (currently available in the UK only) requires you to enter the country code (+44) before the phone number:

Once you enter the number in the designated field, select the appropriate Wireless Carrier from the dropdown list, type in your message, then hit "Send Message", mywirelessreminder.com? will do the heavy lifting for you behind the scenes.  The current International Wireless Carriers supported by mywirelessreminder.com? include O2 and T-Mobile UK.

 

What if I'm not getting my reminders/greetings/messages?

Check with your wireless carrier to verify that per usage messaging is provisioned if you don't have a media package currently.  All carriers listed in the drop down menu have been tested to receive SMS and MMS messages.

 

Is this different from a PDA or Blackberry?

  • With mywirelessreminder.com? you can set/send reminders or greetings to friends and family, unlike a PDA or Blackberry.  Once you set it, it?s set for life unless you change your wireless carrier.
  • Utilizing mywirelessreminder.com? - your personal wireless assistant - is cheaper than purchasing a PDA or Blackberry because the subscription is FREE.  Your online calendar allows you to set reminders for important dates.

How do I send messages/reminders/greetings?

You simply set the reminders and greetings in your online calendar and your personal wireless assistant will deliver them at the time you set.  The reminders and greetings can be set to remind you daily, monthly, or annually.

 

When sending a Quick Reminder or Greeting, do I have to input a "send/delivery" date and time?

Everytime you access the mywirelessreminder.com? home page, the Date and Time fields under the Quick Reminder/Greeting Section reflect the current date and time with the default time set as the Eastern Time Zone.  If you want your message to be delivered to the desired wireless number shortly after you enter your text message and click on "Send Message", you do NOT need to adjust the date and time.  However, if you would like your message delivered on a specific date and time, simply adjust either field accordingly (keeping in mind that the system default is Eastern Time), enter your text message, then click on "Send Message".  For example, if you live in California and you want your message to be delivered at 5:00 PM PT on a given date, just enter "8:00 PM".  Upon sending the message, a confirmation page will be returned confirming that your message will be delivered as requested.

 

What happens if I change my wireless carrier?
Simply log into your customer profile and change your carrier.  Your reminders are stored and don?t have to be altered or changed, your wireless assistant handles that.

What happens if I want to subscribe but don't see my wireless carrier?
After you subscribe, send an email to info@mywirelessreminder.com with the name of your carrier and the address(es) to receive SMS (ex. yournumber@carrier.com) and MMS (ex. yournumber@mms.carrier.com) messages.  Please note that carriers often have separate addresses for their subscribers to receive SMS and MMS messages.  Once we have this information, we will notify you via email that your carrier has been added.

How do I check messages on my phone?
When you receive a new reminder or greeting, an envelope icon appears.  Simply select ?Read? or ?View? to see your message.

Consult your user?s manual for more details on this and how to adjust the method of notification.

Can I add as many contacts as I want?
You can enter as many contacts as you want; your personal assistant will keep track of all of them for you.

How many messages can I send?
Your free subscription allows you to send as many messages as you need to throughout each year.  Please contact us at

Is there an additional cost to send and receive messages?
Again, your subscription to mywirelessreminder.com? is absolutely FREE!  Since all of your messages will originate from a computer, there are NO additional costs to send messages.  Regarding the receipt of messages on a mobile device, some carriers do not charge for receiving or incoming messages; however, that depends on the rate plan that you or the recipient has.  Costs can range anywhere from 0¢ to 15¢ on the wireless bill for received messages.  Please consult your wireless carrier?s pricing plan to learn more.

Can I send messages to an email address or just to a wireless device?
This service allows you to send messages to both mobile phones and/or email addresses.

Can I send messages/reminders to more than one person?
mywirelessreminder.com?
lets you send messages to everyone in your contact list (as long as they have a wireless device or valid email address).

Can I cancel anytime? Is there a charge?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at anytime.  However after you cancel, you will no longer be able to login to your mywirelessreminder.com?
account and use all of the free tools.

How do I know my messages were sent?
You will receive a confirmation email that the messages were sent.
