Text Messaging (or SMS Messaging)

Text messaging is the ability to send and receive a string of characters (text) that can be displayed on a wireless device.  A text message can be up to 160 characters.

With text messaging, you get a quick and simple way to send and receive reminders and/or greetings to wireless phones and email addresses.

Your phone does have to be powered on to receive any messages.  If your phone is off or you are not getting a signal, the message will be stored (normally up to 72 hours) on your carriers’ network until the phone is on or service is available.
